Luca's Birthday

We had a great weekend celebrating Luca's second year of life. The weekend was filled with family and friends, and we loved every minute of it. Luca seemed a little overwhelmed but I think with all the hoopla of Christmas he was just overloaded. Thanks to all of you who sent birthday wishes! We are so blessed to have a happy healthy 2 year old!

Christmas 2008

Here are some pictures from Christmas this year. They are in reverse order so sorry for that but we had a great one this year! With having almost 2 feet of snow at our house we had to change plans a little and stay down in Lebanon for Christmas Eve then come back up to Portland Christmas morning. Luca and Jack had a wonderful time together frosting cookies and looking at all the christmas decorations. Christmas eve the Mitchell side of the family celebrated Christmas at my moms house, it was great to spend time with them and let them see Luca since we don't see them much. Christmas morning Traci, Jordon, and Jack came over to Poppi and Grandma's to open gifts and have breakfast. Luca was so excited about his wagon that he literally wouldn't get out of it for the rest of the morning! I shouldn't have even bought anymore gifts for him since I had to open them all for him. After breakfast we headed back up to Portland to celebrate with the Bellenghi's. We had an AMAZING traditional italian feast and had a great time with all the cousins and playing with all the new toys. I didn't take any pictures though because I came down with  a nasty cold and was lost all motivation to do anything :) Overall the only think I would have changed this Christmas was to have LESS snow involved!!
They weren't even interested in any other presents once they saw the wagon!
Luca's expression was priceless

Luca kept checking and waiting for Jack to get there.
The boys on Chritmas eve getting ready for bed.

Jack had it down!

Yes, it is still snowing!

Well, we are up to about 14+ inches of snow up here. We are just up the hill enough to get the worst of the weather but luckily we haven't had any interruptions  in our power! Luca has been having a blast especially since Uncle Jake has been stuck at our house for a few days also! He loves the snow and never wants to come inside! Here are a few pictures from a few minutes ago...

Holiday Boats

Friday night Luca's Uncle Jake invited the family to his boat house to watch the holiday boats pass by on the Willamette River. It was so festive as all the boats would pass by and honk their horns and yell "Merry Christmas." We had a great time and Luca loved every minute of it as he was yelling to all the boats! Thanks Uncle Jake!

Happy Birthday Pops

Saturday my dad turned the big 55!! We spent the day in Lebanon with the family and our family friends the Allens and Knurowskis. We had a great day filled with laughs and a nice dinner as a group at Mama Lindas. Here are a few pictures.

Snow Day!

Well since we are having a massive snow day up in Portland we decided to get bundled up and go play! We met our niece and nephew who live a street way at the school between our houses and had a fun time in the snow. Luca loved it so much he cried when we made him come inside....

2007 vs 2008

After the last post I thought I would post Luca's picture from last year seems like he isn't really a fan of smiling for pictures with Santa??

Luca's 2008 Christmas picture with Santa

So I debated whether or not to take Luca to see Santa (as he calls him Santi) for three reasons.

1. I am lazy and pregnant
2. The massive line of screaming kids.
3. Frankly Luca is a shy little guy who doesn't like strangers so I had a feeling what the outcome would be.

Nonetheless I woke up this morning feeling guilty that I skipping the Santa experience this year for my selfish reasons so I decided to take him to the mall right when it opened so hopefully we wouldn't have to sit in line. We were about 6th in line so that was good and Luca seemed excited to see Santi and kept say "there he is!!!" Of course when we got up there Luca starting saying "no no no" so we got this ONE picture, no smile but no tears as well. After this picture was taken Luca wiggled his way out of Santa's arms so on the bright side at least he was looking at the camera!

Ultrasound Picture

Here is the ultrasound picture of our baby girl. It is amazing how her profile looks identical to Luca's. I will have to scan his and put them up for a comparison. We will see how much she looks like him in a few more months!

There has been a bit of a delay on uploading the ultrasound. As we have been unpacking the office is last on the list so my printer and cords are not all set up yet. So I didn't it the ghetto way and just took a picture of the ultrasound so sorry if the quality isn't great.

Thanksgiving 2008

Poppi and the boys walking to the park
The Shimmin Clan
Luca and I Thanksgiving day.

Wow what a weekend. Thursday began with finishing unpacking our house then we headed over to Rob's folks for thanksgiving dinner. We had a wonderful time with all the Bellenghi clan, I didn't take pictures unfortunately, I have found with this pregnancy I am very lazy when it comes to taking pictures. Anyways Friday was filled with errands I got up and tried to hit a few sales but wasn't really feeling it then we went and got our Xmas tree and put out all our Xmas decorations. Usually we head out to the tree farm and experience the whole Christmas season festivities, however this year we were tired and Luca had fallen asleep in the car so we just pulled over at the nearest tree place and picked a pre -cut tree in 3 minutes and it wrapped on the car and headed home, Luca slept through the entire thing. Saturday was full of football!!! We had family over to watch the Civil War, since we finally have a house where we can host our large family! The ducks showed up to play and the house was happiness with the Ducks crushed the beavers rose bowl dreams....hey there is still a chance if USC loses right??? Sunday we celebrated thanksgiving with the Shimmin clan and had a wonderful meal followed by a walk to the park so the boys could run around.....all in all it was a great family filled weekend that has left me exhausted and looking forward to a quite Monday
